Greetings.
For those of you with a website, which website hosting service do you use? What do you like/dislike about it? I've been with Network Solutions for well over 10 years, but they're getting flaky lately and it may be time to move the site to a new hosting service.
Many TIA, -09

I moved to squarespace a few years ago. Liked their templates and so far no issues with hosting.

Squarespace looks like a build-it kind of service. I don't see simple hosting service options on their site, but maybe I missed it.
Thanks! -09

I've been on Squarespace a number of years. I had my old company there and my personal website is still there. Templates are good and quite capable and you don't have to dig into HTML unless you really want to. You can use a Squarespace-issue domain, create your own named domain with Squarespace as the domain service, or use your own domain that you've acquired elsewhere.
But of course you've still got to pay attention to your site in order to keep it fresh. No way around that. But Squarespace gives you a lot of tools.

Everyone I know of on Squarespace is pretty happy, my father in law worked for Godaddy for a number of years, nobody seemed happy.

My (pretty much dead) forum at www.recpit.net has been with HostGator for years. Never had a problem, and they've helped me out a few times when I messed something up. I called tech support and spoke to an American! (fascinating) It is "raw" hosting or whatever you want to call it but they do have some built-in software packages I've used as well. They seem to be pretty vanilla and up to date with how their servers are set up, but I'm no expert. Also, cheap. Network Solutions was my first host back in 2006ish. I'm surprised they're still around; my experience with them was not good for reasons I totally forget.

Thanks to all thus far. HostGator and GoDaddy are (so far) the two that look the most promising. My site is completely built; I maintain it, so no need for templates and hosting sites that help you build a site and that kind of thing. Just hosting service only. upstairs: thanks for sharing your HostGator experiences! Again, I very appreciate all the input and response. -09

They've been around for more than 20 years and they are exceptional in every way.
