The episode of Recording Studio Rockstars I recorded several months back is live if you're inclined to listen. It's not too geeky/gear centric and pretty casual. Direct Link Spotify

Great episode! Atom's just before yours is another great one. Thanks for listening, Lij keeps it chill which I appreciate…we didn’t get together with anything in particular to talk about so where it went was very natural.

That recording workshop was 10 weeks. And I think they did it one other time after we went through it. Great memories.
Sadly, Dave Davis passed away. Curley still records at the Lodge in Dayton KY, but he's been pretty busy with the Whigs touring.
I knew little to nothing about gear at that point, so I was extremely overwhelmed with what was what.
I still have everyone's mixes from back then. I actually thought your's was the best one.

No, the band was called Viva La Foxx, named after a strip club in NKY. The drummer in that band is the excellent Andrew Jody, who has played in several other great bands. www.discogs.com/artist/1798440-Andrew-Jody#:~:text=Profile%3A,Leg%20of%20Black%20Diamond%20Heavies. Ruben Glaser was the guitarist and also fronted the band Pearlene.

This was an excellent episode, Sean. As someone who came up listening to the Elephant 6 stuff (and even bought a 4 track Portastudio to try to sound like early Neutral Milk Hotel and Olivia Tremor Control, ha!) it's cool to hear you talk about that aesthetic and GBV. I also loved the John Prine stories. I'm definitely going to take a listen to your playlist in the show notes.
