The SA-609 MK2 starts shipping in a couple of weeks. I believe we have about 40 left on this batch. It's exactly the same as the MK1 in terms of performance, components and transformers, however, we have added a Dry/Wet blend control as well as a Modern /Metal Knob selector. When selecting the Metal Knob the unit behaves like the classic 33609 with it's peculiar thick and velvet top end. When selecting Modern the unit has the frequency response of the modern 33609JD which is more suitable for modern productions. Below a video on how it works and sounds by Red Stone Productions in Amsterdam with a little interview.
Very much looking forward to shipping all of these out. I hope you like it! Josh

They were not damaged in the local fires, but offices are closed temporarily and no staff were hurt either: safety first!

They were not damaged in the local fires, but offices are closed temporarily and no staff were hurt either: safety first! My dearly esteemed and honorable kcat, can you speak some more for my stubborn, non-facebooking self? There was a fire? When did this happen? My new years resolution will be that I stop bugging you about this and actually make a facebook account. I swear.

We had a massive fire in Chile, particularly in our town, Vina del Mar. 150 people died and 3.000 lost their homes including Stam Audio's workers. Fires were apparently intentionally started in the surrounding forests and with strong winds and hot temperatures they became impossible to control and were quite close to our lab. Fortunately on the third day as we evacuated and prepared for the worst the winds changed direction and they managed to control them and stop the advance. Just 20 blocks from our lab this is what it looks like this morning. el olivar.webp (271.05 KB) We got lucky and we are all safe. Public transport is gone, power was gone for days and there was a curfew but as always material things can be replaced. We got hundreds of emails from all over the world and we appreciate each one of you for reaching out.

Wow, this is absolutely tragic. Glad you and your team are all safe but heartbroken for those that weren't so lucky.
Sending my prayers.
