Yeah, just email me and I tell me its for the SA 3A. I will then send you a paypal.
As far as T4b's go. I have heard and compared both Drip and Kenetek. They sound the same once they are calibrated and in the compressor. So grab which ever you feel like getting.
If you use my case you need to grab the recommended components on the bottom of the page. Mouser part #'s are listed. I use the same IEC and XLR's for all my cases. This makes it easy for folks using my cases.

Shipping based on Zip I assume?

The matched pairs of transistors are included in the Serpent kit, I believe hairball provides a package of three trannies for just over $110 per channel, and I got the kenetek t4bs unmatched $250, I'll never use the 3A as an exacting stereo buss comp, and even if I use it on a stereo source, it's usual for me to eq stereo sides differently. this should save you over $100+... I think? IMO you are making a great move Jes!
2 chnls of hotrodded(all the popular mods in switchable) la3a compression @ $4-500 per ch is amazing!

It looks like the Serpent parts kit includes 6 of these transistors. That's all I need then? I can drop the extras from my cart then? Do you have an email into Hairball about the trannies?

Custom front panel would be cooler than paying $70 for the Serpent version. I imagine that I could put on some bad ass dakaware knobs (or something) too rather than the ones listed right? Anything specific I need to look for in terms of knobs?

Front panel designer software for making ur own panel, I was asking dan about the file for the layout, I know it's floating around somewhere... Hairball sells the sa3(2)a meter knob kit as a package, did u count that?

I thought the pcb was for a stereo pair? Just looking at it the other day. Hmmm. "THIS LISTING IS FOR A SINGLE SA-3A PCB. PLEASE NOTE THAT TWO BOARDS MUST BE ORDERED IF BUILDING A STEREO UNIT. (SA-3A PARTS KITS AND FRONT PANEL SOLD SEPERATELY)" Sorry for the caps there, that's direct from the Serpent site, not me YELLING. The parts kit though says that it's for the stereo set.

Ah... that is kinda strange. I must have read the parts kit last and just assumed that the boards were stereo since the parts are. Thanks.

jcoutu1 GuitarDid either of you end up building one? I'm thinking about ordering soon... I decided that I didn't have enough confidence in my building skills, but got one from rickcarson. I should have a mix early next week with this on guitars that I can send over.

jcoutu1 GuitarDid either of you end up building one? I'm thinking about ordering soon... Sorry haven't worked up to it yet. It's the funds mainly keeping me from doing these "big" DIYs.. I like the work. I'll probably build a computer before anything else in the rack.

Thanks --- I just have this nagging feeling that they're going to stop selling the parts again..... If you're talking about the faceplate and PCB, yeah, that's why I snagged mine, sort of as a placeholder so I can eventually finish the project even if they go off sale. If you're talking about components, that's scary! I hope I can find all the right parts when I'm ready to order. I think another tube condenser is my next DIY for now. I just get so much mileage out of these fancy condenser mics, and I've got good ideas for the next one.

Yeah I should probably be building a u47 next too................... every project I want to build now is right around $1000 -- it's annoying. u47,Sa-3a, DLA-2A, Stereo Sontec, 1176 pair....
