I've recently been obsessing over the mid frequency eqs by pultec, Manley, etc...
The em-peq and Lindell 500 series eqs are using pultec type concepts in the 500 series format so I wonder...
Would there be any design/space limitations to creating a pultec-like mid frequency eq in the 500 series format?
If one exists I'm not aware of it but if it did it seems like it would be a distinct and useful tool...one that I'd buy and use anyway....
Any thoughts on this subject?

It depends on a few things really.. Obviously it's not going to be tubes. The next question would be, do you want an exact clone, or do you want to do a design that's inspired by the pultec? I ask because you need multitapped inductors which can get large(or you can use series single inductors which would take up even more space), but you could also change the impedances within the unit to lower the size of the inductor you need, however you'd then need a custom tapped part or you'd need to do a lot of math to figure your series inductor values.. Something like this? www.gyraf.dk/gy_pd/pultec/meq5.gif

I recall that Dimitri aka Mitsos from gdiy is coming out with a kit. He has had a discrete eqp1a out for some time now.

Svart,
My lack of electronic design notwithstanding, I was guessing that the inductors would be the mismatch....too big for the format....
I'm no stickler for a direct reproduction, but rather the functionality...(I have a pair of the Manley Pultecs and never feel wanting for an exact eqp1a clone...
But it looks like there is exactly what I'm describing in the pipeline ready to drop at any moment....
Thanks gents for the insights and links...

Lolo,
I find myself lusting over the jlm opto comp (even though I'm covered for opto comps) and I do have the manleys Pultecs so I'm covered in that regard...
I guess my fascination with the MEQ thing is that I would think it would be a much more used and discussed tool....
