First, its Saturation Mode disables the compression circuit and lets the ng76 act as a saturation box or a clipper. This is interesting and almost predictable, that at some point they would merge something from the classic line with the modern, as the mixbus comp already was a hybrid. I have their Beta76, clone of 1176 comp and it’s really really good, with nice features as sc filter etc. The only thing I have been missing on mine is actually the bypass option for the compression section. Had a chat with them about how to achieve it and the closest possibility was to pop out all ratio buttons. That would still compress at higher levels. So the bypass of comp and the recall possibility of this new sounds stellar.
