Any recommendations for a step down transformer? I may be purchasing a Vertigo VSM 2 and it’s 240v, I need it to be 120v as I’m in the US. I was wondering if this would be a workable solution instead of trying to tamper with the inner electronics and make it 120V. Anybody done this before? Any recommendations are welcome!

Talk to the manufacturer it might be an easy switch, it might not. At the very least make sure it’s 60 HZ Now I’m the guy who at one point had 2 sets of laundry hook ups in his apt and used one to power a Crown reference, you might find it cheaper and easier to run a 240 circuit dedicated to one piece, not like it’s high amperage!

You can get a power inverter at any travel shop. You don't need heaps of power (amperage) available, so a travel inverter will give you all you need.

I ran a Bowers and Wilkins sub on some transformer I bought on Amazon for years without issue. I think it ran me $70.

I also bought one off Amazon to run my Yamaha P3200 powering my NS10s. Works great!

If you open up the VSM 2 uses a standard linear regulated power supply. The Transformer is dual winding on the primary and looks like it has a switch for 110V/240V. These types of PSU don't care if it is a 50 or 60hz. If not a simple step up transformer will work fine.
