First allow me to thank you all for your concern and I do apologise for the long delay.
Its been like trying to get a Quart into a Pint bottle but thanks to the other two engineers in the Helios Team,
between us we have managed to get this Helios F760 into only taking up one slot in any 500 series Rack, we do understand how precious these slots are to our clients.
I have placed a picture at the bottom to show the fully working prototype.
The Front Panel lettering is just a piece of laminated paper, it will of course be our usual very high standard gloss finish
To get it down to size we are using a Barcode Meter for metering which is a very good for the user, but for Calibrating we will supply a remote Meter by request as well as extender cables these will be an accessory of course.
The external meter plugs into a small 4 Position 3.5mm Jack socket on the Front panel, the other contacts are used for the Stereo Link and Side-Chain for your Type-69 EQ
No one seemed to know how to set the two Pre-Sets on the "A" PCB (Control Volts & Rectifier Balance).
Or the other two on the "B" PCB, (Rect-Bal & Dist-Null) although the latter is pretty obvious.
I & thanks to Tim Mead (Q Audio) have figured out how to set these, but I would be interested in any one else's findings.
Whenever I spoke with someone at AD&R the answer was "Set them midway",
I found this to be close but not close enough.
We are still using 2N3819 & 2N3820 JFET's as I found a very good reliable source of supply,
but to be on the safe side I purchased over 500 of each made by Fairchild and all manufactured
from the same batch.
I'm using a special designed meter to choose the required complimentary pairs.
We will continue to supply new "A" & "B" PCB's for replacing the older PCB's that the Print has
been damaged beyond repair, due to de-soldering sometimes not using the right gear
We will soon be introducing a DVD on how to set up any F760 either a Helios orthe AD&R Version,
if you don't have the Test Gear then we will be recommending on how to use your "Smartphone"
whether its iOS or Android.
We just need to know how many we will require to be manufactured for our first batch so please those
who are keen please write to me at:
arny@helios-electronics.com
I am always happy to call anyone no matter where they are in the world to discuss Helios Products,
I just require a tel:# and a convenient time.
Many Thanks again & Kind Regards to all who sail on this great ship
