I'm really curious about purchasing an analog distortion unit that has good flexibility with targeting certain frequencies, I've been using Izotope Trash 2 and found that targeting certain frequencies for distortion can balance a sound out pretty quickly and save me a lot of time when mixing.
Taking that method to the analog realm is now tempting.. Which analog units are you guys aware of that serve this function? I know theres the Vertigo VSM-2 that has 5 or so frequency range settings but that thing is 7 grand... Any suggestions are appreciated!

The Drawmer 1976 is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Multiband is not really a great thing.

Low end peaks/bloom? Distort the bass freqs and bring the gain down. It's been so much easier then trying to tame peaks from quite dry ITB stems or synths with dynamic EQ.

Appreciate the recommendation Martin but I'm looking for something in the analog realm. I may just go ahead and sell a few pieces of gear and buy a analog VSM-3. Only other things I've seen are the Hendyamps Oven/Stove units, but no real reviews or sound examples to really listen to.

The Drawmer is a decent recommendation.
I know you said analog, but you might want to look at Tone Projects Bass Lane Pro. It's got a lot of cool options.
