Hey,
I recently tried a brand new microphone from NLP audio. NLP is the brand of David Fehrer who might not be a household name but is certainly one of the best technicians when it comes to vintage microphones here in Europe. He for instance made a custom PSU for my u47 so I could adjust and see the voltage of the VF14 tube in real-time!
So back to the ELAM, he only uses quality components, capsule etc is made in EU so no made Chinese parts. The cool thing though is that he offer two versions. One with an mullard 4024/ecc81 tube but also tested NOS 6072-5star tubes for a very reasonable price. Check out my test and feel free to download the raw tracks 🙂

Very nice. Who in the EU makes the capsule? Thank you!

Nice video as always. I also preferred the 6072 cuts. I feel there's low end there, and a tailored EQ boost would sound better than the ECC081.

Sounds great. Another vote for the 6072. Sounds clearer and less woofy. Not that the ECC81 sounds bad or anything — the 6072 just sounds a little better.

Sounds great! The 6072 does it for me. I have known David for many years. Good luck to him. There is only one German company making CK12's so that's an easy guess

That I know of, Haun (MBHO), of Germany, makes great CK-12 capsules (Bock) & other type capsules (Brauner).

We should probably shut up before we drive the used MBHO prices up where they belong! Herbert is responsible for some of my favorite modern mics, just wish he had better US distribution!

I think Herbert Haun will not sell to individuals, that is the capsules. The mics, if he still makes them, are sold. Tim can clear it up.

I believe these are the capsules that David Bock used. If they are, and I tried several soundelux 251s, they are excellent. I always wanted to try one of Tim's capsules though. Maybe he will have some at NAMM?

I think Herbert Haun will not sell to individuals, that is the capsules. The mics, if he still makes them, are sold. Tim can clear it up. We are a company in Europe, all my respect to Tim (we know each other for years) but how can he clear up my business acquisitions? As Kcat stated there must be a MISunderstanding here somewhere:
"The mics, if he still makes them, are sold [to individuals]. Tim can clear it up." means that if Herbert Haun still sells his OWN mics, which I'm not sure he does, Tim can verify that.
It has absolutely nothing to do with you, your company or your "acquisitions" - you're not even mentioned.
BTW, in a prior post you stated: "All I can say it is made in Germany." I guess by your response it verifies Haun. Congratulations.
