Has anyone heard Bereich03 Bax and Dangerous Bax side by side? Dangerous is absurdly expensive in Europe nowadays, it's over 4k dollars. Around here maybe paulcheeba is the guy to have compared them. The Dangerous is $3K here in the US. It doesn't have a mid band either. I'm sure it's pretty amazing though. Dangerous doesn't cut corners.

Looks like I'll have the EQ on Friday. Though the date has already been pushed back...

Haven’t used the Bereich but his stuff is always great as is TK.

Intrigued by the features on this one, and have been holding off on a Density purchase for too long! It looks like I need a better chassis, which is in the works. I do plan to have a few follow up posts as I get going.

I'm feeling like a bit of a moron. I got an RND R6 to replace the Aphex, but am still experiencing a level drop and distortion in the low end. This is turning out to be quite a time suck and I'm not sure whats the what. I've got messages out to Beireich03 and the Neotek users group, and the guy who has my manual because he's supposed to be rewiring some i/o snakes.

FYI, I'm not sure what the other Bereich units draw, but the stereo Density units draw a max of 466 mA, or about 233 mA per channel with everything turned on. So they draw a fair amount of current. I don't know if that may be causing you any issues if your rack is underpowered.

The master inserts are unbalanced, so a mod or using the 'secondary' out is gonna be the key. The cool thing is I can send back the R6 and save that money.

I thought I'd revisit and give you all an idea of what's up. I figured out that by going out of the mix outs instead of the master insert I could work the BAX into my mix bus chain. I mixed a single this week and I have to sat it brings a lot to the table. With the option of mid, side or stereo on each band you can enhance the mix in different ways. On the first, I had the midrange and his both boosting 1db to the sides, while a boost in the bass was sent to the middle. I changed the hi to stereo for the second song and changed the frequency. The thing I really like about using the mid-band on the side is that it really pushes the guitars out in a really nice way, even on the song where I didn't have them hard panned.
I'm always trying to make sure mastering doesn't do much to my mixes and this guy I think is the next step in that.
