This think looks pretty bitchin'! 3 bands switched stereo, mid or side for each band. Available in 1db or .5 db steps. Under $800 US Has anyone used this or anything from BeReich03? Bereich03 Bax EQ

His stuff is great! Mastering quality. The density is so good on stuff, drums especially. Great value too. I have 10 channels and a couple of filters.

Looks like he makes some cool units. That delay unit sounded great.
Plus all the mastering ones. Pretty cool.

Sounds great to me!
Nice stuff and a reasonable price considering the quality on offer.

I know you tend to go all in when you dig a company. Hmmmm tax season is here in the U.S. I wonder how my refund will look this year.

As I look more at the site and listen to thing, you really could build a nice 500 rig with Bereich03 gear exclusively. I kinda want to sell my console and rebuild with something like this, though I don't actually want to put in that effort...

I am very impressed and intrigued. I love EQs. This as a stereo EQ seems like a great surgical tool for many applications. I like how the midrange bell curves narrow as you increase the boost or cut. That is a great design/engineering with the practical world in mind. I can always count on you or Dr. Bill to provide good feedback on gear I don't (yet) have with a simple positive word or endorsement. (and of course you have 10 of them . . . you are the MORE Cheeba not the LESS Cheeba!!)

I just sent the order email. Oh baby. What are you looking at, Tony? I've been interested in the Density units for at least the last year or two. Have thought of selling my Zulu and picking one up...

I want the BAX EQ. Thing just looks like you can do a million things with it. I want it mainly as a mixbus EQ, but I think it could be pretty great on room mics, and acoustic guitar, and Hammond, and and and and... ETA: I just realized you may have been asking 1db or .5db steps. I'm getting 1db steps.

I have the density. It's cool and does what you'd expect it to. Interested in the analog delays now that the Moogs are gone, and used ones cost a fortune. Those delays seem cool....

For a couple of years I've been trying to figure out the best way to incorporate stereo analog delays into my hybrid mix setup using pedals. These 500 series units have all the features I would care about for that use and none of the guitar pedal board features that don't matter to me. The demos sound really good--all the beauty of analog but clear and quiet. If I were to quibble I might want a little less than 75ms on the fast end. I LOVE the versatility of the two filters and the ease of switching from insert to aux-bus right on the front panel. I literally just typed this unit into my gear wish list.

I have 12 channels of Density. They get used for everything. I may pick up another four channels eventually. I basically use them like a tape machine.

Sound aside, you know what my favorite thing about the Density is? It's dead simple to use, with real switches, and the output gain is compensated so that, as you raise the input to get more juice, the output lowers accordingly. So it's super simple to do an AB comparison and also use it all over the place, since you don't have to worry about getting it set how you like it for one instrument and then fiddle around with it to set it for another instrument. Two clicks over for bass, and then two clicks back and it's where you like it for guitar. The meters are really cool too for getting a sense of what you're doing. I keep 7 channels parked on drums, and then use the other five channels wherever I want them.

I've never used a Zulu, though I have a general sense of how it works (and its passive design, which makes it fiddly), and the Density should blow it out of the water from a workflow standpoint. They're kind of at opposite ends of the spectrum from a repeatability and usability standpoint. I had considered the multi channel rack Zulu thing that never ended up getting released, but I'm glad that product died on the vine. It led to me getting the Densities instead, and I'm not sorry that happened.

I feel like it would be really easy to build a rig around the Bereich03 stuff. I would consider it if I was building a new room or something.

Has anyone heard Bereich03 Bax and Dangerous Bax side by side? Dangerous is absurdly expensive in Europe nowadays, it's over 4k dollars.
