I played with the UA version several times and never really got on with it. Probably reflects more on just not knowing how to use it well enough.

Oh I thought it was like regularly $250-350 It did use to be, but SHMC has been in with the sale stuff for a couple/few years now. SHMC Class A is still a little more.

The Class A SHMC is my fav plug from PA. i do most of my compression on sub busses and on the master, this works well withtickling the meters on both the Optical and VCA. I always use the make-up gain too. Seems to glue a bit and add warmth.

Plugin Alliance is the new Waves but without anything like the Renaissance Maxx bundle or the 90s plugs.

I'm pretty sure the Shadow Hills compressor just showed up in my account one day...because I definitely didn't buy it but apparently I "own" it.
Because of their sales and vouchers, their plugins are really worth $9-$29 (at most). I wouldn't ever pay more than that for anything they sell. I bought Needlepoint when it came out (which is pretty neat) for $29 thinking "this will probably be the cheapest this will get for awhile" and it was $15 a week later.

I think I got it with the Pro Tools upgrade to 2022. There were a few PA things.

Yes pro dsm is great and Kirchhoff is cool but the Renaissance stuff is clean and braindead easy. There’s a reason I’m tempted every time the bundle is 30 bucks. Only the wup being more than I would pay for the bundle and one license on only one computer puts me off.

Waves still has the most draconian policies. It’s just ridiculous.

I don’t think I’ve ever used it on master or mix bus, but I sometimes like it on drums, piano, or acoustic guitar. But, I almost always just print hardware for stuff now.

It is for me too, for lots of plugs, beyond just PA. Damn sales.
MetricAB (which I got from PA) is still probably the best plug I own, so chalk one up there in the heavily used column.

The only PA plugs that ever made a track were the SPL De-reverber and the Neold U73V76. Meanwhile I just did a mix that was mainly the Oxford EQ and Oxford Dynamics last night. The MDWEQ6 was darker for whatever reason on it.
