Well then they better get their editing act together fast. Comping, Flex Pitch and Flex time are bare necessities if they want to compete. For $200, Logic gives you that and thousand more things, many worth having. I bought Logic in 2012, and have been given free upgrades for a decade now. Top that and we'll talk.

The editing for timing issues is actually pretty slick in LUNA. They do have what they call Versions, but I just don't think it compares to comping in Logic (or likely other DAWs like S1). I forget what they do for pitch but I know there are some options, but it's not like Flex Pitch, which honestly is not too far off from Melodyne, which is crazy. I don't think UA has a DAW philosophy that's there yet. They need to focus on many more core DAW features first. Logic is tremendous value. But LUNA is free, and the benefits of working in their system can have advantages to some. I just think you need UAD2 to get the full potential and that's very expensive.

The time stretch and audio quantize in Luna is the best available. At least better than Cubase or pro tools. And they just haven’t tackled comping yet. I don’t think versions is their attempt at that - just what’s available at the moment.

What am I missing?
For example, I record a few vocal takes using different track versions in Luna, make new COMP VERSION, highlight a section on one of the vocal takes, fly it in, go thru the tune, and then I have a comp?
It's simple and easy,,, But I'm old school

It's simple and easy,,, But I'm old school I haven’t bothered with it in Luna in a while, so maybe something is new…but comping in Logic, Cubase, S1 is so much quicker with less steps. You see all the takes. You swipe over the take you want to have in the comp. That’s it.

Logic's comping is absolutely brilliant. It's so fast and easy, and with a little skill you can do edits that you shouldn't be able to do, but you can.

It's simple and easy,,, But I'm old school I am 100 using Luna so this what I do. I have gotten pretty fast at it using quick keys One thing I sorely miss is seeing which section comes from what version The Logic “swipe to comp” is best in class though. I hope when they do decide to tackle comping flow that they do something like that
