I wonder what auto tune would do to a snare? Lol I’ve literally never thought about trying it. I might have to go give it a try. Have you tried Waves Torque?

Psp hertzrider I’ve retuned total crap snares with that otherwise make me want to kill myself. No reason why autotune or an Eventide thing or something in your daw shouldn’t work

I would find a snare that is not too ringy (even from a previous session), sample it and use Massey DRT to turn each hit into a midi note for triggering. Plus I would tab to transient every sing hit in the song to be sure of 100% phase accuracy. Then maybe a tiny bit of EQ. Elysia Nvelope is a killer hardware option too.

Thanks to you and sean John, I snagged Waves Torque back in 2019, and I was able to retune all the drums to better match a mix I was working on. Two thumbs up on that plugin, and I believe it was only $29.

The SPL DrumXchanger has a lot of that built in. There's tuning and transient designer for the original and the sample.
