I have Senn 650s and rely on them heavily. Headphones have intrinsic issues, but I can get very far down the path with them as one of my main references.

It’s still HD600’s for me, they sound the least hyped and seem to have the response closest to my monitors.
Old standard, but for me they had stood the test of time.

Be sure to get open back headphones if you’re mixing

Anyone out there have the Sennheiser 6xx? Wanted to know if they're exactly like the 650.

"6XX" -- what a weird model number. It looks like Sennheiser is doing their own knock-off of their classic 600/50 series before someone else beats them to it.

I have and like both the HD600 and NDH30's but have found myself using the NDH30's most of the time.

I have the mm-500, HD650, and HD25. The MM-500 are amazing and offer a much more useful reference to me for electronic and bass-heavy music. I actually had an interesting experience when I first purchased them where I took the headphones off while listening to some music because I thought there was some large object moving near me, and mistook the low end on this experimental track to be something in my environment. Just an anecdote, but maybe a useful one in the context of low end translation. I haven't ever experienced something like that with a headphone. All three are great though, I'm a big fan of the HD25s. The HD650s are amazing but lack something with bass heavy music, but they are still really nice to listen on.
