Indeed! Except, that was the choice (plus two others already hanging), from the vault of over 100. These were chosen for a 3-piece punk-influenced band.

I don't have near that many mic's but do have a few good ones. Here's a shot I took of the mics that are housed in a separate road case for my remote recording rig. ( actually don't have a pic of the remaining studio mics. ) Attachments:

The vintage thing is totally overrated!
There are mic's today that are totally amazing! No need to waste good $ on Vintage.

Some day I may whittle down from 116 er 118... oh who am I kidding, I gave away 4 mics and bought 8 more.

The vintage thing is totally overrated! There are mic's today that are totally amazing! No need to waste good $ on Vintage. That was the conclusion I came to nearly 10-years ago and haven’t looked back. I proved to myself a couple years ago that I truly feel this way when I had an amazing opportunity and cash (at the same time) to buy a phenomenal-sounding and quiet VF14 from someone I highly-respect. I actually passed it by! However, an aluminum-diaphragm KM-53 would still get me!

The advantage of vintage in theory is us old farts should be able to walk in chose a mic and know what it’s going to sound like vs 40 different clones. Unfortunately in practice it’s almost the opposite. In your case Paul I figure it’s more of these are the ones I like and I’m keeping them, vs they are vintage, because let’s face it over the years that rig has evolved! Glad to know you will be closer!
