A little bit of a zombie post, but after trying the native UA that was on sale last week and going down the rabbit hole, I just ordered/bought a Voxbox. Damn you Seawell in the nicest way possible!  My apologies 🤑 I hope you love it! |

When I tried the plugin initially on a vocal I actually totally hated it. Thought it was awful.
Printed the mix quickly and left. It took me a minute, but I realized that while it was a different approach than what I normally do with a vocal, it sounded great and I thought it connected a lot more with the track and me as the listener. Absolutely kills on bass and kick drum too, so much so that I bought the plugin and the hardware.
Balancing the comp and limited against the pre is the trick; the plugin literally did a better job of what I was doing with 6 other plugins functioning as a channel strip for a lead vocal.
Sounds great, so much faster, easy to dial in. Can't wait for the hardware to get here.
