Hi guys,
Purchased a pair of KM184s a few weeks ago and the accompanying clips seem almost too tight in that it feels like I'm risking scratching the microphones every time I use them. Because of this, I'm looking for a shockmount that still secures them but won't risk scratching the paint off. Any recommendations would be helpful.
Thanks!

The AT were a favorite of mine till a client who had bunch started to have the clamping mechanism fail, I’m pretty much a Rycote convert. Still remember when all their stuff was hand made to order.

Rycote in the answer. INV-7 Yes. Use them with my Gefell M295 and love it.

I've been using Pelusos shock mount designed for SDCs for years. Works great and feels very reliable 👍

There are multiple rebrands of those AT shock mounts, or maybe AT is, in fact, a rebrand and somebody else is the original. I don't know.
In any case, I have some other brand, though I forget which one. They all the seem the same. The ones that I have work just fine.

I found these a while back on Ebay. Have been using them for all our SDC mics that didn't have good clips. Can't beat the price. They are decent quality also. www.ebay.com/itm/293815325521

Rycote INV-1/2/3 are the smallest thing I know of for tight spaces. I use them with SDC's to get inside a drum kit with little space between pieces. They're meant for stationary use with no cable strain, unlike the other Rycote which are good for motion and field work.

The Shures are great but not as universal as the AT or Rycote, plus you have to work at balancing some longer mics. However When they work they are one of the best.
