Just wanted share a short demo I did with Cloud 44-A a while back. Just got it back from a studio who had it for demo and was reminded of how great it was on my midrangey vocals.
It's very pricey, but it does what it's supposed to do very well.

Being figure-8, if you take the acousti-shield away and place a similar (but wider) baffle back a few feet, that mic will sound even better. I tried the same thing when I first got my Cloud and found it much more congested until when I didn't use the shield. It is a terrific mic that I use a lot. They did it up right when they built that mic.

I used 4 of the Cloud ribbon mics on drums for a album I was producing about a year ago. "Eddie Seville Restless Hearts" I believe it's available now.
They were positioned, Left (near floor tom) Right, (near rack tom) Front of kick, and Room mic. Video ran on the Cloud Site for quite a while, but I see it's no longer there?
Simply put they were amazing, If I could afford to buy 4 I would in a heartbeat! GREAT MICS, and Roger is a great guy!

Man...certainly not as much as the AEA 44...I was thinking these would be twice as much as they are ($1899)

Really nice vibe in the clip, both sonically and musically nobtwiddler . I'm a little curious about how "Cloud 44-A" is different from Cole's 4038!? I assume you've worked with Coles 4038, so it would be interesting to hear what you think how the two mics are different from each other. I've only been working with Coles 4038 and love them and you can not have too little of ribbon microphones Kind Regards H.Hansson

It can be placed anywhere an old RCA 44-A would work well, really.
