i have to give a huge shoutout to Dan Kennedy of Great River guys. My G R ME 1NV EQ which i've had for at least a dozen years since new, blew it's mains transformer and wouldn't power on. My tech couldn't find a replacement to fit here in Australia as they are a custom make apparently. I e-mailed Great River support, Dan Kennedy answered saying they should not fail and sent a replacement and included international shipping all on his dime Bear in mind I've owned it for a fair stretch and was expecting to pay all costs and offered to ( he didn't bite on the offer). All it cost was my tech's time. Is that huge service we need to recognise or what?
Big thanks Dan.
Cheers, Ross

Had a great experience with Dan when repairing my EQ-2NV. One of the best, for sure. He actually cares.

There's just some companies that will bend over backwards to give you great service and because of that I would always err towards purchasing from them. Mojave are another, my mic was out of warranty and I managed to damage the headbasket. They didn't hesitate to send me another, for free as well and I really did not expect them to.

Agreed unfortunately the supply chain issues around the world have screwed things for a lot of good companies!

I always enjoyed talking to Dan at Tape Op Con. I've had my MP2H well over 20 years.

Same here. I thought my beloved white face mp2 was having a noise issue and he checked it out, turned out the issue was on my end, but he upgraded the input connectors from the original plastic ones and sent it back no charge. Mind you it is at least 20 years old. best service ever.

It’s what happens after you’ve bought a product that defines the quality of a company. Obviously Great River are right up there with the very best.

There are so many beautiful sceneries near the river valleys. They are totally gorges.

After many many years of wanting a Great River EQ-2NV (probably 2007 or something, read so many posts on "the purple" website) mine recently arrived from Alto Music - my initial tests definitely put a smile on my face and I'm happy to hear that Dan's reputation is holding up as strongly as ever. Also, I'm totally tempted to open it up and try to figure out what's going on in there! -Chris

Will it ruin the surprise of mojo? Knowing how it works?

Will it ruin the surprise of mojo? Knowing how it works? Thanks Hadaja! Long ago I realized my skills as a musician were limited so I got into the electronics side (I design analog chips); to me there is definitely an "art" to what's under the hood and the magic of transformers is still like alchemy to me. Over the years I've picked up some pieces purely for the circuits choices made by the designer - Gordon Model 5 (ironically, no transformer ), Buzz SOC 20, Hardy/Jensen Twin Servo, to name a few - and I also totally love what they bring sonically. The digitally controlled analog part of the GR has me wondering :-) Modernizing a classic and bringing something new to the table is inspiring - no concerns of missing mojo for me :-)

Wow, thanks for all the nice recognition. I was alerted to this by a few folks, thanks Michael and Dan. I do cruise by here now and then, but it's been awhile. Work is busy, I usually get home and have dinner, watch some British murder and mayhem show then crash. I do try to take care of my customers, and part of it is building crap that doesn't quit, and then dealing with the few that get by.
As I have said to many people over the years, and you have to remember that I've been building stuff that's still in use since the '80's, I have to take care of my babies.
I also don't have any secrets, everything I do is straight forward stuff, so Chris, send me an email to info@greweb.com, I'll send you a set of schematics for the EQ-2NV. It's pretty simple.
