On my mbp 2012, I was doing the unsupported instal of ventura, ya I know.
Anyway, I didn’t wipe the drive just tried installing ventura, ot almost complete but now have WSOD with a small citcle with diagonal block through it.
None of the normal work around key combos on start up are working.
If i hold down option on start up, i can see the install os and select a hard disk but it doesn’t see my original boot drive, its seems to be locked into trying to install Ventura. Any thoughts, other than opening it up and changing the hard drive ? I have 2 ssd in the mbp, if I could get the option start up to work, i should be able to make the second drive the boot drive and work/ salvage from there .

Isn’t there an option that lets you install the OS that shipped with your computer? Is there a Time Machine option?

Yes command r on boot should het you there.
The problem was the computer was locked in an install mode.
I put my usb drive back in tbat had the bootable ventura file in it and this time it loaded fine.
I was able to install ventura and complete set up: yea!m
So, I have ventura running in my unsupported 2012 mbp and csn now reload my other softwares but also now up to date!
So, my m1 mini and mbp 2012 are back to running the same softwares: great!

Here's how to load ventura, you just need a clean usb stick as you download ventura to it and then load it from there to your computer.
