I'm wanting to add another high end vocal options...mostly interested in something a bit more "modern" sounding to compliment my U67, M49, and a rather good sounding U87. Ideally interested in a Flea 48 and Upton 251 but would also consider an older Blue Bottle with B6 capsule or Soyuz 017 Tube. Maybe something else...figure 8 is a huge plus (although I know the Bottle and Soyuz are not)

Got a better price quote for a new one from a dealer but they haven’t had any luck getting much response from Upton about actual availability (been on order since March and no response from them in over a month) which doesn’t make me confident in the company…I mean Upton’s website is barely operational with most links being dead. |

Upton to make one is at least a 6 x month wait from experience. They kept me informed every step of the way.

I definitely had to wait a month or so when I bought my Upton. I went through Vintage King, and if I'm remembering this right, they let me know a few days ahead of updating the website when they had new mics in stock.

Any interest in a Lawson 251? I may be selling mine. These are great. I have a pair of Upton's, and one Lawson, and I routinely pick the Lawson over the Upton in a/b shootouts. The LF contouring switch is really, really useful. |

Howdy! I've got a Flea 47 Next (Cardioid only, so maybe not your thing) that I'm going to be parting with soon. I bought it new last year from Vintage King...the Flea docs in the box indicate a build or ship date of March 2022. I absolutely love the mic, and if I was rich, I would keep it to complement the mic that's replacing it: U87ai. I just prefer the U87ai on my voice. Honestly, the Flea is probably a better mic - it's more open, the highs are little smoother, and it's generally more balanced than the U87ai (The ai's low mid push is for real! :-)).
