I bought Amplitube 5 Max for $99 and got the Total Studio crossgrade offer for $99.
Pros: I’m mainly interested in the X3 organ, Modo Bass, and some of the T-Racks/Mix Box modules. The Tape Collection is a nice bonus as well. There’s no way I’m installing all 470 GB worth of instruments.
Cons: I have so much software, and Amplitube would have been the biggest hook for me but I just bought it. Every time something like this comes up I say, “It won’t write songs for me”….and then they get me around Black Friday anyway.
GAS reactions?

I had a relapse of GAS when they were selling the Max bundles just a couple months ago and I mostly regret the purchase. I already had most of the T-racks plugins, which I do think are generally solid or usable. Outside of the x3 and leslie modules, I almost never use any of the instruments or samples. Modo Bass is good for writing or demo'ing, but so far I haven't really been able to get a tone or sound that makes it to the final mix. Modo drums are a hard miss for me.
But honestly, for what you mention, $99 seems pretty good for those things alone. If you look at it this way, I've spent more than $99 on a single piano that gets far less use than the Hammond.

Good insights to have. I "like" a lot of the T-Racks modules, but there's a real point of "I have at least three other plugs that do this" redundancy going on there. I'm starting to lean towards the iZotope bundle because it has Stratus for $49, and as a Nimbus user I'd like to have that one future proofed.

FWIW, the IK stuff I find myself using a lot is:
Their vari-mu (looks kinda like a Manley). Both Fender amp collections. X-Delay Their Space Echo Their tape delay (less so)
Also, there are good patches in Syntronik, but it’s kind of a pain to navigate.
And I actually use their basic clean EQ a lot too.
I like the mellotron a lot too, but have only used it on one or two tracks so far. Same for the B3 and the stand alone Leslie.
Anyway, that’s my attempt to be helpful!

My go-to “clean with a bit of breakup chime” tone is the Super Reverb with a few different choices of IR for further shaping. For 70s crunch I like the Fender Twin with the “Tube Screamer” used at the lowest drive settings as a clean boost into the dimed amp. For delays I try to make Valhalla Delay work for everything just to keep it simple. I bought Syntronik in the group buy but I’ve only found a handful of the options really do it for me. The ARP monos are my favorite because the raw oscillators sound so good on that one. For most synth things I use Diva, OPS7, or more recently Model 84. I also have a Hydrasynth that can get surprisingly close to an analog tone if you take the time to tweak it, though it never gets 100% there. I don’t have a go-to B3 right now. I have a couple VIs on an iPad that I’ve used for playing live but nothing in my DAW PC. I used B4 forever ago, with the Leslie in Amplitube 3 if I recall correctly. Somewhere I have one of those ancient Melotron sets of sampler patches that I used to use. I think it would still work if I could find it

I forgot: I also use their 1084 EQ a lot for broad strokes. Ended up liking it a lot more than I had anticipated.
And yes, the Arps can be great. I have also had luck with their Moog Minotaur module and a few others.

I think y'all talked me down. Studio Max will go on sale some other time when I haven't dropped $200 on Black Friday software already. I'm happy with 90% of what I picked up and I'll save the rest for another day.
