I guess i call this stuff bubble gum music. You know hippy grooves and electronica music. i still enjoy listening to some of this stuff every now and then. Great to listen to to start your day off. Being a middle age guy i still love my guitar leads breaks. here is a typical song
Lead breaks start at 2:38. btw that guitar tone sounds just totally awesome. Breaks through the music nicely and sounds a little different from the heavy mesa boogie riffs. I can picture a HH prs guitar through some botique usa amp. Any ideas on this tone?
So why is there hardly any guitar lead breaks in modern bubble gum music ? or is just a case i need to expand my musical horizons?

Sounds 80s. Stab in the dark, but something like a Laney AOR or similar with reverb added in post.
