So, I'm sitting here working on a video comparing hardware vs software reverbs and an email pops up from iZotope that says -
"As a software company, we must continuously review our product portfolio in order to plan how and where we invest our development resources. In order to best deliver on our reverb products, we decided to streamline our Exponential Audio product line to the two most modern versions of these products: Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D."
Right as I was printing a track through R4 LOL. I'm sure Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D are amazing and you can still open Phoenix, R2, R4, etc.. presets so that's good("PhoenixVerb, PhoenixVerb Surround, and NIMBUS presets can be opened in Stratus 3D. R2, R2 Surround, and R4 presets can be opened in Symphony 3D.")
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case you own or were planning to purchase these reverbs! You may as well just go ahead and grab the Stratus and/or Symphony.
Also, if you already own exponential reverbs, check your email for a loyalty voucher.

Ever since the sale, i kinda lost track of this.
Guess, I should reach out to their support .

hmm.. i don't think i've seen any vouchers. I own Phoenix verb. Admittedly, don't use it much, but it's nice to have and I'd be bummed if I couldn't use a thing I paid for (I'm looking at you, Sonivox!!!)

I thought they weren’t making them silicon compatible ?

I thought they weren’t making them silicon compatible ? stratus and symphony are already m1 compatible. Those are the only ones that got updated. Pretty bummed. I really like R4

I obviously understand why they're doing this. But it's frustrating that they were blowing these out last year with aggressive sales. Are they really telling us they didn't know last year they were going to do this? I think I bought like 3 or 4 of the Exponential reverbs from iZotope because they kept putting them on sale. And now they're discontinuing support for all of the ones they put on sale last year.
It's hard to get too mad about it, because some of them were literally like $9, but still, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Surely they knew they were actively selling product that was EoL.

I don't want to start using something with a short shelf life and I'm not prone to trusting a company that drops something after pushing it.

Killed by private equity. same with Trash 2 which was a mainstay in many electronic genres. I love Excalibur too. There's no replacement Lexiconish multifx right now until PSP updates N20.
Worse yet... they only kept the most expensive post one to force people in long running projects who get new Mac computers to buy that one for backwards compatibility with their old projects!

Yeah, it’s kinda sad. Have been using first Phoenixverb and R2, then Nimbus and R4 on almost everything I’ve done since they came out. I guess Stratus and Symphony are the natural heirs, and I will buy them this BF, but I’m just hoping that they keep support for those two for some time. Absolutely world class reverbs.

I don't recall receiving a voucher email and I own Phoenix and R4. I've used Phoenix a lot over the years, even on my M1, and I'll continue to use it until it gets glitchy. I won't be spending $129 on the new model at this time. By the time the Phoenix bites the dust it's very possible a new reverb plugin will catch my eye, and my budget. Honestly what I'd really like is the Chase Bliss CXM 1978.

For anyone interested in the discount, the email came from iZotope and is titled "This is evolution, not goodbye." It's the announcement about exponential but has a "check your loyalty offers" tab at the bottom to click.

Man, they are such a confusing company. So as an owner of the "Music Production Bundle 5.1", I'm supposed to have Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D already. But they're not in the iZotope Product Portal thing. I had to go to the iZotope website, login to my account, go to the product page for Stratus 3D where it encouraged me to buy it (even though I already own it), and find NO LINK to download the product. I had to go to the very bottom of the page, find the link "Product downloads", and find it in there. Oh, and there are 44 links at the bottom of the page. 44.

I've always had trouble with seeing my Exponential purchases in my iZotope account as well. I can't even remember how I found installers that I needed a while back but your story feels very familiar. That's wild!

I have nimbus and R4 and really like exponential audio. When I heard that Izotope acquired them I thought this might not be the best move for us audio guys. I haven’t tried to update my plugins, but I know there are updates. I guess I’ll try to get around to it at some point.

I have all the reverbs but only bought one directly through Izotope. The others were from the usual online stores, so they don't show up in my account. Not sure I want to spend any more money on these. The old versions still work on PC.

I own Phoenix, Nimbus, R2 and Excalibur and no longer use any of them nor will I because I can’t. They are quite good. When I open older sessions that had them I just duplicate the project and replace them with something else. Too bad really. They weren’t inexpensive unless you bought them at blowout prices from Izotope.

How much is the loyalty voucher for/is the loyalty discount? I got all of my Exponential verbs through Plugin Boutique sales and I think they all show up in my iZotope account, but no voucher here.
I want to know what the discount is so I can gauge whether it's worth the effort to complain 😋😅

Hey guys, As the original perpetrator of Exponential Audio, I want to thank you personally for not calling me out on this thread (it's different in other places). I've taken the position that I will not comment on the rightness or wrongness of Izotope/Soundwide's sunsetting of my old products. I'm almost--but not quite--an innocent bystander in this matter. I'm really glad that they've taken Stratus/Symphony forward, and I really hope they find a way to port one or two of the others. I'm going to miss Excalibur. It's been a little more than four years since I sold the company, and over two since I retired (I'd stayed on with Izotope as something of a consultant). I still have friends there and I continue to explore ideas about what they might do with the plugs. At this point, I think the odds are against us (I say us, because I'm just a user now, like some of you).
I would strongly recommend that you do your best to navigate Izotope's website. I can comment about that: it's really a dog's breakfast--an utter mess. If you can't find offers, then don't be afraid to contact support. I do know that they want to make going over to Stratus/Symphony easy and relatively affordable. Don't be afraid to bargain if you're really affected. Just be nice.

Michael Sorry to hear you’ve had to deal with that! My frustration is that iZotope doesn’t seem to appreciate how great your creations are. It’s a bummer for sure but definitely no ill will towards you!

Michael I'm just glad they're keeping the structure of your original algorithms and user interface together in some form. For a while it looked like izotope was just going to use them with a straight-jacket in something like Neo-verb and let the original Exponential lines die off entirely.
