Never really had problems with sibilance in my better mics. +1 My sibilance issues went the day I started tracking with a Wunder CM7 > Retro STA Level.

FWIW by today's standards... If you re-listen to Nat's "The Christmas Song", or some 'ol Johnny Rivers hits, that were done on a 47-you hear some. Not that it makes love those records any less. Chris

I think a lot of times it's a 'dental' thing. The way the tounge lands behind the teeth at the conclusion of the 's' sound.
Mic choice and position first. Then a good de-esser if I have the tone I want. I'll just deal with those issues later.
The Weiss plugin has been my go-to for a while now. Two ranges to tweak frequency-wise and threshold for both.
