I Installed the firmware and driver update yesterday morning, , the “sauce” button is on the bottom right of MBEQ now.
Don’t overlook Kevin’s Limiter, no controls but I really like what it does.
Sontec eq is excellent.

I just looked at my MIO plugs but didn't see either: - a preamp character emulation of the PYE tvt preamp - a "sauce" button on the MBeq. There are the two sliders on either side, though. What should we be looking for in the MIO? Thanks. Oh for the new MB plugins! |

Also bought the full suite of plugins. The Sontec has been phenomenal after a little under a month of use, mainly using it on the master but as I'm learning the curves, I'll likely use it more on individual channels as well. The 25k is very nice, love the mid-range boosts, both shelves are very satisfying. The Q ranges are pronounced with a lot less guesswork than you might imagine - very easy to identify areas of energy and accentuate them without it feeling cartoonish even at 3+ db (on the mix). I've never used a real Sontec but I can see why it's so coveted if this plugin is even half of what it's capable of.
I always assumed I'd eventually end up getting a Sontec clone or a Knif Eksa but not so sure after buying this plugin.
The other stuff is comprised of simple shortcuts that are useful, replacing 2-3 plugin chains with 1. The MB pLugins are a little bit expensive relative to the market but, for the Sontec, I think the sound warrants the premium. The other ones, maybe not but still found them useful and to the point, unlike most compound processors these days. Thank you so much for purchasing! I have owned A buzz, A knif and a Porter and the Sontec plug is really getting close as far as satisfying the role of main mastering eq. |
