Does anyone make a 500 series EQ with HP & LP sweepable filters? Something like 4 dual-concentric knobs with one stack being sweepable HP & LP and the other 3 being 3-band with proportional q.

The Great River Harrison is close, no proportional Q, but a wide/narrow button. link

The filters are something I've heard a lot of people rave about.

The filter love comes from the 32C console as well. They are really cool (I have the Great River, not the console). The LPF is a bit too steep for most things (for me) but it (and the HPF) has a cool sound to it. I use the HPF constantly, the LPF more occasionally.

If you think that’s steep last month a friend had a track full of an LF rumble around 32HZ, now it’s rack mount and digital but I did a quick pass through the BSS MINIDRIVE with the 48 DB per octave filter took 3 min to set it up dial it in at 63hz and it disappeared 😁 guy loved it so much I sent him a link to a BSS 3088 for $129 he bought it and is downloading Soundweb.

Most full on EQs don't have variable filters just due to real estate on the face plate. Yeah I have a couple Tonelux EQ5P which have 4 bands on 4 dual-concentric knobs that's what got me thinking if one of those knobs were just a sweepable HP and LP filter instead of another eq band. It at least all fits on the faceplate but don't know if it would be a problem cramming in the filter circuit. I see the capi BT50 split the band pass filter so that's a cool option but it's of course not sweepable.

Yes that is very cool but it's a whole extra 500 series rack that I would need to pair with my EQs. If I were going that route probably just see if there is an 8 channel filter in a 19" rack. I know API makes those 200 series cards with just a filter option.

I have their rack unit which is a little different - the V2 - and it is amazing. Sorry, I cannot think of what gets you all the way there on your original post.

Came across this one late last night while infinitely scrolling through instagram: www.davidevansaudio.com/shop/51-ii-eqAnyone have any experience with it? Looks to be based off a 51 series Neve.

I'm a little curious about these. Thing is, Neve's 51XX series aren't exactly held up as a titan of EQ circuits (there is such a thing as 'meh'-grade Neve gear). But I've chatted up Dave from Dead(fx) a bit in the past and use his GB-1 GainBrain clones quite often - they sound incredible (assuming you want to nuke/distress/spank the source). I really should try a pair. Dave's good people and supporting bespoke 'makers' in this business is tasty fruit. I'm just short on 500 slots these days.

No hands on experience, but he also makes a very intriguing graphic EQ pedal with sweepable filters and a blend knob.. and can be used for line level recording too for those of us that seem to be out of 500 spaces at the moment.
