I had a Launcher. I sold it off a month or two after I bought it because I didn’t like that it had one setting. I wish that I had kept it because it was a useful tool to have in the box for subtle analog saturation.

Sometime Anders could you give us a "Do's/Don'ts" sort of advice on both the... Original Launcher? Deluxe? I did make the Poor Man's version of the Deluxe. By getting a separate Phantom Power Box BTW. Thanks for all those exceptional videos and music! Chris I’ve been doing a lot more fun tests with the Launchers. Now that I have the 4 channel Coil Audio phantom power box, lots of crazy options. I’ve got 2 normal launchers and the Launcher Deluxe, plenty of fun combos. Also been messing around with the Launcher Deluxe in color mode with my new Coil Audio preamp. The Coil adds so much weight to everything and smooths the high end out nicely, but sometimes it’s a little too much without turning down the negative feedback. Putting the Launcher Deluxe on the output of the Coil has given me some nice results with some mics, I’ve also futzed around with that combo on line level stuff and full mixes. Pretty good combination at times, I would definitely recommend playing around with the Deluxe in the passive mode on the output of your preamps. You can mess around with hitting it harder and softer. Just be careful as it was designed to go up front with mic level signals. There’s a very narrow sweet spot when driving it, quite easy to overdo it.

I'm releasing this tomorrow but posting early... Lots of people asking me about the 1973, Chandler Type L and Vanguard V4. Here you go! They sound very different from each other, this should help you sort out what will work for your usage and preference. I recommend all of them at this price point (obviously )!

That's a lot of hard work putting that demo together Anders. Thanks so much. It was really interesting. If I was looking for an all-rounder, especially for vocals, I'd choose the Vanguard. The Soyuz has such a great vibe though, very moody. I could see using it for a certain type of album, ( thinking of Beck's Sea Change).
The Chandler didn't quite thrill me until you put it on drums, and then it was a knockout. It had all the tone you want right from the start, no need to EQ the drums to death. It would make me rethink the mics I'd use for tracking drums if I was doing that kind of recording.

Nice work, as always, Matt. The Chandler on BD out sounds so right.
