“It’s hard for me to openly criticize a company I used to love and gave so much to. But PayPal’s new AUP goes against everything I believe in,” PayPal’s former CEO tweeted. “A private company now gets to decide to take your money if you say something they disagree with. Insanity.”

Man, not totally related to PayPal, but PayPal Credit took 5 claims to fix my account after I was scammed on Reverb for a u67. They just kept telling me I didn't have enough evidence even though I sent them screenshots of an unshipped item, an unanswered refund request, and emails between myself and Reverb's customer service department admitting the user's account was hacked and it was fraud. Every time I would submit a new request, they told me I didn't provide any new evidence, even though I would add another email or photo, and their online messaging system was always down so I had to download a faxing app and fax them the info like it was 1997. Luckily, I didn't give up and they finally did the right thing, but I honestly believe they were just trying to break me down because they didn't want to take the hit on the money. Crazy times.

Yeah that sounds familiar, some how liking your post just felt wrong! I liked yours, so there you go:) Stories like yours are why I dropped their Credit Card, I know a guy who filed a report with the PD on a scam sent the report with the detective’s notes about similar MO and he still had to jump through hoops. I also called before going to the Bahamas paid for the tix with the PayPal.

I just listed some items on Sweetwater's Gear Exchange. There are no fees if you take the sales in gift cards from them. Pretty cool if you're eyeing some new stuff.
Classifieds here are great too, but there's always risk no matter what route you go.

Hmm.... I just took a deposit on mix work this morning. Paypal banged me for $18 in fees which is certainly way less then 10% of the total.
They did however, blast a pop up saying my tax ID # on file doesn't match IRS records... which isn't shocking because I highly doubt I ever gave them that information to begin with. Will ignore for now.
Hmm...

Corporations have this illegal fraud abetting shit as company policy and force employees to sign NDAs about revealing their role as criminal accessories

Everything on reverb lately has been garbage except for pickup only and guys selling speakers that may or may not work and may or may not need 1000 dollars in new drivers and rebuilt crossovers.

Exactly right,.....unfortunately too many Co's operate this way. IMO they knew before they made it right what the truth was, but for every 10 people they make jump through the hoops of beyond reasonable evidence, and the time and effort that costs the consumer to do, 9 give up and they keep the money as part of their business model. Whether it's this issue, the one on the other paypal thread or other unscrupulous PP issues, I'd seen enough to close my account long ago and couldn't do it fast enough.

I will say this: I hate effing paperwork (paper or virtual ex 1099) almost as much as I detest having to deal with PP.

Classifieds here are great too, but there's always risk no matter what route you go. Oh, YEAH! Let's see if I understand this - I sell my U48 on Sweetwater and there are no fees if I take my $20,000 in GIFT CARDS? Who exactly are they trying to scam? I would guess it's ME. And if I don't take it in gift cards what do they pay? I don't know, but I'd guess - 75%?
What the hell would I do with $20,000 in GIFT CARDS? Will they pay my rent? NO. My bills? NO. My MEDICAL BILLS? In my dreams. MY food? UH-UH. More crap from SW at list price? Sure.
I think I'd rather advertise on GS. Which I have not.....yet.
