IMHO they don't suck that bad. At least their timing is tight.

Leslie was a force to be reckoned with.
I recorded, toured, and produced, 5 or so albums for him. It was absolutely amazing to realize, no matter what guitar (even acoustic) or amp he played, he always sounded like Leslie. It was a really all in his fingers!
Truly a legend!

Mountain were kick ass! To hold your own in the time of Led Zeppelin, Cream and Jimi Hendix was no small feat.

What a sound Leslie West made. It didn't matter what amp he used, it was identifiable after 2 or 3 notes. Today there are guitarists like Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Satriani, etc. But few attain anything close to classic status.
With respect, I can't remember any music great players like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani have ever done, with the possible exception of Vai's playing on PIL's Rise.
Just say "Mississippi Queen", and you can sing it, even the solo!

I remember seeing one show where... Head East opened. Followed by Joe South. Then finally One Direction. I wasn't quite sure how to spell "Mississippi", as a youngster. So I asked my school pal and he said... "The state or the river?" Chris
