I own this unit, and the demos feel familiar. Can’t wait to compare to the hardware.

Is this the same model the Audioscape is based on?

I have a lot of Fuse stuff, everything except the plate reverb, delay, drum remixer, flywheel, champ guitar amp, and the channel strip (which I didn’t know existed until today). VPRE-562A, VQP-258A, and VQA-154 get used the most. The compressors are a bit hit or miss, they have pretty unique attack and release characteristics and sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. The VCL-25A is the most flexible/easy to use. VPRE-2C is the most useful of the preamps in my experience. I also think the guitar pedal bundle is well worth $19…or less when it’s on sale. Great Big Muff, chorus, and the El Germano can do some cool gated things with the bias control
They usually have a pretty hefty discount a few times a year.
Oh and I bought the new spring, threw it in the mix, and it sounds great. Using it on a record already

For my part, I’ve got all of them. Disclosure: ray asked me to beta test the 305 plug after seeing a spring reverb video I did for YouTube, and kindly gave me NFRs for the whole product line. I had no previous experience with Fuse and to say I am impressed with their product line would be a massive understatement. They very quickly became staples of my plugin folder. There are a few plugs I haven’t found any use for, but most of the stuff has become crucial in one way or another.

The LA4A is really good and reminds me very much of the Alachtronics modded Urie that I cut my teeth on.

I had no previous experience with Fuse and to say I am impressed with their product line would be a massive understatement. They very quickly became staples of my plugin folder. There are a few plugs I haven’t found any use for, but most of the stuff has become crucial in one way or another. I own the entire Fuse bundle except for this new one which I’ll buy soon. They’re all worth it. The best stuff are the VQA-154 emulation of ADM 1540 eq, the TCS-68 Tascam 688 channel strip, and the Vpre-562 emulation of a Grampian pa amp. Obviously your mileage may vary but these are the most flexible plugs in the bundle. The solid state virtual pres are super subtle unless overdriven, even the Tascam, but all have a great stack up that isn’t subtle. They’re all based off unobtainium too. The 2C is more obvious but again insane when pushed. The compressors are all special effects: The VCL-373 is a pumpy saturated maniac. Cool on rooms and vocals but it really saturates off the top end and you can’t get it back easily with a shelf unlike a lot of other popular compressors The VCL-25 barely does anything until it starts oscillating on crazy. Great on synth patches and as a special effect in the mix as a parallel send on guitar. Watch out sean because the oscillations start off small and get nuts! You might not realize they’re happening at first and it can be cool but can get outta control. The VCL-515 is pumpy overshooting craziness like an Altec off meds. You need to have the needle barely moving at all or really dug in to not have the pump be audible. The high pass filter changes the overshoot of the attack. The VCL-864U is the most normal, it’s just a slow attack, medium to slow release Federal so you need a tape plug or a limiter after it to take care of the overshoots. The boxtone is awesome and really “pushed” in a “good tube gear” way! The reverbs are cool but conspicuous. Drum remixer is cool for remixing stems. Channel strip I have never used because it’s slower than my current workflow and not as out there as infinistrip. Honestly it’s way too normie for the rest of the fuse plugs while Infinistrip is in its own world for sure and reflects the psp ethos better than the fuse vcs-1 does the fuse. Flywheel sounds good and I’ve used a couple of times but it’s not nearly as good as U-he Satin.

I compare it favorably to a plate, and use it in similar places.

Haven't listened yet, but I love springs. It ain't a spring if it don't make thunder when you kick it!
You know, that feature shouldn't be too hard to program...?

Then why not use a plate if plate-like is what you actually want. To me, bong and grit are reasons to use a spring, not really things to avoid. If it can't do Dick Dale it ain't much of a spring! And you can always use a limiter on the input...

And you can always use a limiter on the input... Can't fit a plate reverb in a rack. Or a mobile truck (a market when these and the AKG BX-10 and similar were made). The 305 and the AKG BX stuff are their own thing, and do something a guitar spring reverb (or, for that matter, an Orban, Furman, Sound Workshop, and countless others that are guitar spring reverb tanks in a box) or a plate reverb can't do. Variety is the spice of life! The Arturia Spring 636 does the Dick Dale thing nicely. I think that plugin is a bit under-rated/unknown.

A 305 is not a guitar amp spring reverb, and you sure as hell don’t kick one.
