What's the verdict on these? I've seen praise for them online, claiming they're great for mixing and mastering. Experiences? Thanks!

I got to hear them at a Neumann event I attended last month and they sounded great, I wasn't that impressed with the closed back version but the 30's definitely got a lot of praise.

Thinking about trying these, has anyone else given them a try? I'm wondering how they translate compared to the Senn600

Can't say how they compare to the HD 600, I don't remember, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything with the NDH 30s. Not the smallest, but very comfortable and comes with a nice cable in a nice box.

I forgot about this thread, but bought the NDH 30's quite awhile back and was impressed enough that I sold my HD600's shortly after. I liked the NDH 30's quite a bit more.

I've had the 20's for a while and really love them. Tried the 30's when they came out, was really impressed with them but my bigger ears were hitting the inside speaker wall of the cans. Every time something with bass came in, it rattled the sides of my ears no matter how I positioned them. I asked Neumann about recommendations for a fix or some third party pads that might help them set a little further off my head. Neumann said that it would alter the frequency response too much to use different pads and didn't recommend that. I'm sure that was just a blanket response for "we will not recommend something we don't make", but I got frustrated and sent them back. I wasn't seeing anyone making a good pad for them when they came out, I'll probably try them again at some point and figure out a different pad solution. They did sound really good, but it was an odd problem I've never had in any other headphone. I knew my ears were kind of big and goofy, but not out of the ordinary. I can't be the only person that ran into the same issue...
