Theres this delay/echo type effect thats on , or was on , pretty much every major label release vocal .
Its a delay/echo thats then sent to a reverb .
I can't seem to dial it in right . Every time I try it sounds too distracting or muddy's up the vocal .
With a basic Digirack delay , what would I set it at to get this sound ? Heres just two examples of vocals with this effect . You can hear it loudly in the verses .

What I did that seems to work is mult your vocal and on the second one, go through a stereo delay with one side set to 0 delay and the other side set to 5ms. 100% wet signal. Now go through a very light chorus, then through your reverb. Reverb can't have a lot of "early reflections", just make it very wet with med-short ambiance. Now cut some of the low-mids and mids of it(or do it before the reverb). Lots of the big guys either EQ their reverb sends differently from the tracks before they send to the reverb, or they do it on console channels after it comes back from the reverb.
Anyway, I think the trick is mainly to have the reverb on the extreme L/R of the vocal in the middle, that way it's not bungling up the main vocal.

Never tried using a chorus . I'll experiment and try what you suggested .
