Gotta say it -- I'm pretty fuckin' tired of all the Jolene covers.
I think it's great that most of the world is finally realizing that Dolly wrote some great tunes, and that one is particularly tasty, but I don't need to hear another cover of it.
To add insult to injury, most do nothing more to the arrangement than change the vocal, as if: "If you think Dolly sang her song great, just wait 'til you hear my voice!"
-- but that's true of most covers, I guess. I don't have a problem with covers, just the ones that take themselves way too seriously, a la American Idol-atry.
I fear that the dinguses out there might suddenly realize that she wrote I Will Always Love You, and try to outdo Whitney's ridiculous, vocal-gymnastics.
Thanks for listening!

Thanks for listening! I do like that version Miley Cyrus did in that Nashville backyard a few years ago, though. That was cool. And Dolly is her godmother, so she certainly gets a pass there.
