One of the best docs I've seen in a while! I guess I am dated, because I love the depth of the guy's lyrics...

I had the honour of meeting him at a music conference a couple of weeks ago! I thanked him for his music in the Phantom of the Paradise which is one of my favourite movies. He said it was very cool that work led to working with Daft Punk!!
Very very cool guy. Brilliant career. Gotta watch the movie.

He's the President of the Board of Directors for ASCAP now, and he's really been active in pursuing rights for songwriters - I'm BMI (used to be ASCAP), but I certainly appreciate his work on all songwriter's behalf. The sad fact here in the Country market is that BMI has consistently paid more than ASCAP...and when I was at ASCAP I had a song that earned DRAMATICALLY less than my BMI co-writer. They eventually honored the amount after several quarters, but to this day, I still make less than my co-writer. My understanding is that - right now - ASCAP is paying more for Top 5 songs in the Country market...but I still think BMI pays more for 6-40...

It's already out...on iTunes now. I laughed out loud several times. The guy that made it is pretty damn funny.

I was wondering about the differences between the two. I Canada we only have Socan.

I'm old enough to remember a ton of Paul's tunes... Really prolific writer.
I just put this next in my Netflix Queue. Looking forward to watching it.
Thanks!
