Holy craaaaaappppp. Dropped by 3rd Power Amps today - www.3rdpower.com/ - and I was BLOWN away...Walked in and was greeted by Jamie Scott (designer and owner) and Joel Phillips - super, super nice guys that absolutely went out of their way to walk us around, show us the building process and demo several of the amps for me. Heard the Dreamweaver, British Dream and Dream Solo 2. Just unbelievably good. The Dreamweaver (as I remember) has basically four channels - Brownface Tweed, Blackface, Plexi and JCM800 inspired channels. They were all to die for - my favorites being the Plexi and Blackface. The British Dream is 2 channels - one side a 59 Vox inspired channel and a Plexi that leans more towards a Super lead...The Vox channel was just disgustingly good. Then the Dream solo's are all one channel versions of the different amps. I'm telling you - those were some of the best sounding representations of each flavor I've ever heard...and I'm buying one - haven't figured out which one...but I'm buying one. So much for the Kemper... BTW - they also have something called "hybrid master" - which, like an attenuator, allows the flavor of full wattage without the massive volume. I'm not sure how the witchcraft works, but it does. Better than other chokes I've heard.

Thanks for sharing this. I dream of my Black Falcon and a Tele through a Plexi.

How did the triangle speaker enclosure strike you? Notice anything unique about the sound? I like the idea of two dissimilar speakers in one cab.
When they were making the triangle shaped cabinets, I thought they looked too weird for a guitar amp.

Yeah, I thought the triangle speaker cabs were a little Spinal Tap...He didn't have any there - just listened through their 2x12 and 1x12 cabs. Everything is custom, so they can build whatever you want or need.
Actually, he talked alot about how the speakers and tube sections were placed in the cab. They are separated to stop the tubes from rattling (or something) and speaker housing is treated acoustically in order to reduce flutter echoes, early reflections or something like that. Being in a triangle area supposedly reduces one surface which supposedly helps the tone somehow. But the cabs and speakers weren't particularly where I thought the magic was coming from - it was the head.
