After having fooled around with it for a minutes, here are some of my first impressions of the sE VR1:
-Certainly on the brighter side for a ribbon mic.
-Fantastic for amps, horns, and room ambience.
-Not so great on vocals or strings.
-Super compact, easy to position around other mics.
-A bit of a hump at ~1k, easily tamed with a -2dB bump on the EQ
-Sounds best with a clean boost, a la Fethead or Cloudlifter
Anyone else have experience with these mics?
