I think they’re on their third iteration of these. They’ve used a different capsule each time. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong— first one was Heiserman, second was Tim Campbell, now I think Braingasm.

I was really impressed with version 1 so I’m looking forward to hearing the 87i version.

I am still working on some final adjustments. The SA-87i will be the final U87 version we make and replace the MK3.
What is different from previous SA-87 versions is that we are trying to match a particular vintage U87 and replicate it consistently every time, this particular U87 has a little more air and a little more low end than any other we have come across before and it's are all time favorite here at the lab.
I'll share a video comparison in a few days and it's already on the site. As soon as I have more material and information to share I will
