These look really nice, but being relatively new and really expensive there's only one demo on youtube and no info from owners on the channel strip. The channel is 2150$ usd more than a Shelford Channel? is this 760 Fet Compressor that good? Can it replace 1176 if you dont have a fet but were thinking of 1176? 6150$ usd for a channel strip? I want to hear more before i give away my life savings? So these Germanian Oympic ones (way cheaper) are made by an original guy on the olympic team, and high praise i hear for the sympathy for the devil sound? Nice is this any differnt than say black sabbath paranoid sound, or the latter Led Zepplin 4 and Houses of Holy sounds? Would the H2 Channel strip be better for those later sounds? Can you line mix mono sources on both these units like you can shelford channel Chandler Cassette ect?

These look great! Have you used them on Line sources as well? Yes they rock. They are the real thing. 60’s Olympic studio 1. +1 with paulcheeba on these. The line in can be an incredible tool come mix time. Love it them on electric guitars. Edit: I use the modular versions with the chassis. Haven't tried the rack mount but I'm sure they're the balls.

You're talking specifically about the Olympic ones at www.audiodigitaltechnology.com/Mic%20EQ/ right? is that the one you have? Or about the H2 stereo rack and Channel strip? I only see two 500 models of the olympic at audio digital? The only one's with chasis or rack i see are H2. It's good to know that both are able to do line mixing, forsure that's my main attraction to these helios units. Thanks for the response

I miss mine. I really do think that 32v power supply gives the pres an advantage. I loved it on everything.

I guess there's no way to know if i prefer the earlier Olympic symphony for the devil recreation or the H2 helios recreation, as there's not a single demo of the Olympic online. Im really curios about the compressor on the channel strip, its more expensive than buying a new 1176 from universal audio, the retro 176 is only 500$ more than the F760 compressor in the channel strip. The F760 compressor in the channel cost 3200$ USD. I would love to hear from anyone who owns the channel strip about the expensive FET compressor in it. I really love the look of the channel strip, but need to know a little bit more before spending that much money on that compressor . Anyone have experience with it or know any albums that for sure used a F760 compressor?

I've got a dumb question, what the heck is up with the Comp ratios not being reduced fractions?!
When the greatest common factor (GCF) is used to simplify the ratios the ratio knob becomes-
2:1, 3:1, 2:1, 3:1, 5;1, 10:1
Why would they include both a 30:15 and a 20:10 when with their respective GCFs of 15 and 10 they both become 2:1. They are the same ratio!
Also for the seemingly redundant 24:8 and 15:5 ratios. They are both 3:1(!) given their respective GCFs of 8 and 5.
So while there are 6 clicks on the ratio knob there are actually only 4 non-redundant ratios.
What am I missing, is this some kind of inside joke?
So confused.

Thanks that Q2 Audio F760X- stereo compressor sounds great! I never knew about that compressor. Sounds like Tame Impala drums, sounded cool on guitar to. I guess i can assume the H2 Channel 760 sounds the same as the q2, though only a single channel for 3200$ usd when the Q2 stereo is 4000 usd.

This is still gnawing away at my brain. I can't seem to let it go. Any explanations?
