Perhaps we need a thread for our really bad lyric parodies?

warren I could poop in a bag and call it art? The criticism is warranted, This stuff is actually very clearly less thoughtful than even that, I guess by today's standard, picking up a box of Oreos at the store is buying art, it is after all formulated, processed, focus grouped, manufactured and sold in mass, just like the examples on this thread, the only thing missing is the fat people riding sloth wagons through the 7-11, with abig gulp in the drink holder and a cotton candy in their free hand I come from a time and place where being "good" and having the sense to not embarrass urself was important, maybe I'm out dated, but I'd quit music before ud catch me dead performing with one of these frauds, u could not pay me enough $! as always jmo Actually, you'd be surprised. Body fluids have been used in art. In this case one can literally call it crap Speaking of buying stuff in a store and calling it art, I believe Jean Michel Basquiat once took a table, doodled something on it and hung it up on the wall in less than a minute and called it art, so it really is subjective. And yes of course these artists get criticized. Kinda reminds me of the movie, History of the World, as long as there's been artists, there's been critics, then the caveman pissed on the cave wall In staying with art, maybe we can say new country is like Rothko, very simple, popular, some people don't get it? Who know's, songs now maybe become classics and be praised for it's simplicity and innovation.

As far as commercial pop music, it's not just country. There's merely a deeper lyrical trench with 'bro country' than pop lyric. The lyrical conformity in country is equivalent to the 1-5-2m-4 chord progression in pop music . Geez, take a chance, people. (People who have record deals.)
Today: I got -treated- to 30 minutes of muzak (no longer instrumental re-records, the original artists) contemporary pop in a department store, and basically listened to the same song for the entire time. Yes, there's a good chart pop song once in a while ("Happy" by Pharrel Williams I'd say is one of them,) but there's a bunch of crappy songs that are also hits. More crappy ones IMO than in my day of caring about chart songs. The best song I heard the whole time (in fact the ONLY good song) was "Doin' It Right' by Daft Punk off Random Access Memories.
Everybody in popular music today knows how narrow the neck of the pop success funnel is, so they all create the same song. It's cynical, because the business is circling the drain. But listeners are crying out for good music. We are, aren't we?

It sounds to me like Rap has had an influence on Country . They aren't actually rapping , but the vibe I get (Yo I'm cool) and reading cowboycoalminer's modern country lyrics sound like Kid Rock lyrics . And KR tries to mix rock and rap .
So my guess is Modern Country is Rap influenced . Where does the term "Bro" originate from .......Rap...."Yo Bro , Whats Up ?!!"
And I know why its happening , but I can't openly say anything otherwise people will pull out the racist card on me .

I think in general, it's not only influenced by hip hop, but a mixture of other genres from pop to reggae. I'm hearing this happening in many current genres. Seeing EDM influences, hip hop, country, etc... bleeding into one another. I personally like the experimenting/incorporating of different elements. Some sound good, some make me cringe :S, but I think good things will come out of it, at least I'm hoping And "bro" country does feel like it's got more of a hip hop and hard rock influence. and see attached, I googled it for ya Basically that's a bro and can't forget about their absurdly high lifted truck playing nickelback (not making fun of nickelback). I can google bro ho for you too if you like haha Attachments:
