T Bone appears to have put a spin on the “instantaneous” transcription recording disc, from 1934….lacking any other specifics.
The only thing that doesn’t degrade is a touchless/frictionless angle like laser/mirror deflection reading the record. That failed to capture market in the ‘80’s.

I handled some large radio transcription acetates once. Big bands recorded live from the radio feed. This does remind me of that. It could be a one-off; an NFT you can hold in your hand, or it could be a revisit of the technology you mentioned. Lasers have gotten a lot better in the last 40 years. Maybe it’s a combination of a laser-read, analog groove with digital info sub-encoded or on a separate track. That would fit the super vinyl description Gioia talks about.

If some sort of physical delivery system comes along…that inspires the masses to buy and use and ignore digital copies of it…..I would be ecstatic…..I also would like a unicorn…8)
