jsteiger, dandeurloo and sll came by today and brought a bunch of goodies, the 4x1 being one of them...I have to admit, I didn't think this was gonna be for me because I don't often use multiple mics in my little overdub studio. I really looked at it as being a unit that you would use to track and mix a 57 and a 121 with on a cabinet or on kick in kick out, snare in snare out...I was thinking of it as a tracking tool. Which it certainly is...but that was a little short sighted. First of all, it makes everything sound better. Much like running my two mix through the Burl, everything sounds smoother and bigger on bottom. Transients are tamed running through it. Think Punchier. Here's where I was selling the idea short. I wasn't thinking about using this for mixing purposes. Bounce the kick in/kick out down to one track, the AG body and neck, the EG two mics, the snare top and bottom, Bass Amp/DI or just Bass...etc. Clean up the mix while running them through the front end of an API console. I thought this was more for people with BIGGER setups, but it might just be the perfect solution for guys that don't have consoles/ITB/just a few pieces of HW - like me. I can also track with it. Vocal mic into Channel 1, SDC in Channel 2, Bass Channel 3, EG/SM57 Channel 4. Then, it has a send and return that I can just leave my Sta-Level hooked up to. I can insert/bypass...It can be a patchbay for me. For that matter, I could add more hardware, add apatchbay and just have the patchbay hooked up to the send/return on the 4x1. Oh - it also has 40/80/160 Lo Cut. I'm very, very intrigued...Afraid I'm gonna have to pull out the wallet.

This thing 100% needs to be offered as a 8x2. The tech is already there, why not offer this as an 8x2 summing mixer. Man alive. Any idea the price point here Johnkenn?

Why stop at 8x2? I want 16x2! BTW, make it rack-mountable:)

Patience, my children... Why couldn't you buy two of them? Having L and R alternate with a stereo master would be much better than a bank of 4L with a mono master and a bank of 4R with a mono master.

I think this sounds (Pun intended) really interesting.
The most channels I ever use at a time is 6.
Kick Snare Rack Tom Floor Tom and pair of overheads..
I have 6 outboard preamps and two of those sit dedicated to overheads.
My other four would patch into this.
I am really interested.
cheers

jsteiger I think Jeff is still getting the pricing together, but if what he told me it might come in at is right, it's VERRRRY doable. The problem for me will be finding someone to put it together.

I agree, though...an 8x2 would be the cats balls for me.
I was gonna buy two Missing Links from Jeff, but with his blessing I told him I was gonna wait for this to come out after using it. I'm kinda going back and forth, though. Which would you guys do?

I'm kinda going back and forth, though. Which would you guys do? for me, no doubt the missing links, they are extremely tolerable to one another in stereo pairs, i believe this mixer is for summing to mono for tracking purposes...right? great for mojo combining with limited daw inputs. better yet, get a Ross martin converter, sell the burl, get a pair of 528's, the capi mixer, have a better rig and take the wife away for the weekend with your change. Thank you, and goodnight 8)

And if anyone was wondering if I'm a shill, I'm not...I'll be paying full price. Ok, I'm getting $25 off for a free t-shirt.
Just thought I would mention that considering all the bullshit that went on over on the other site.
