The V2 is something special, but I will probably never track through it now that I've had it in place for a few weeks. I do use a 5500 in the chain before it but with an SSL Fusion in the middle, but the V2 sits where the MAS used to be and I dig what the V2 is doing. The TapeOp review is spot on. I shot out my 5500 (which was def stereo bus glory) extensively against the v2 and got rid of the 5500 haha |

And to think, Matt is putting together a console with a V2 on each channel.
I'm more interested in using the V2 for tracks. Seawell's review covered that like a champ. Now, with this thread, I come to find that it rocks the mix-buss too......

I posted another two posts but deleted because I thought the levels were off. Forgot to mute the original mix. Dumbass. Anyway, what I had said was that the V2 is a game changer on the mix. I haven't tracked with it, but I'm sure it'll be badass there too. I'm no seawell but let's have some fun. Here's a couple of minutes of a mix I've been working on. Started with the V2 on and then dropped in a V2 off every eight bars after. There are images so you can see the flow in PT and the settings on the V2. The V2 wasn't out of the two buss chain, just bypassed using the buttons on the unit. Edit: yellow is V2 on, purple is V2 off. Love my V2! I had originally bought it thinking I would use it mainly on my master buss but it hasn’t made it there yet 😂 It has lived on drums and guitars since it arrived. Now I only have to get a pair of LH95’s…. Excited to see what comes of the compressors they’re working on too! 😁😁
