Lol yes, I get ya! I've actually never tracked acoustic bass through a comp, always did compression during mixing. Something I should try eventually! Don't be afraid to commit. Many of us had to record finished tracks, back in the day, due to a limited amount of hardware available. So we learned. And it's satisfying to have great tracks recorded that don't require plugins. Sure, you can use them to sweeten, and you can use all this great gear with hardware inserts, but it's a fulfilling feeling to have recorded tracks using signal chains that end up sounding beautiful. JMHO Yessir, I'll definitely try it when I get the chance. The main reason I haven't tried it is because I just haven't had the gear. After I get my mastering chain set up (which is my main focus anyway), I'll work towards getting tracking/mixing chains!

Been using the 76 F for vocals the last two months or so and I'm really happy with it. audioscape really did a great job with it.

Don’t know about audioscape as I have t heard them but If I have a choice and generally speaking I like revDs the most. F’s are great too but seem a less colorful. Which is not good or bad A’s are specific. If I don’t have a choice then whatever 1176 that’s in the rack is gonna get used Unless it says WARM audio.
