Day 2 of tracking soup to nuts on a 48 channel Legacy AXS. Not really missing other preamps. Although there are a boatload of 1084s juts hanging around… Something HUGE to be said for consistency...

Royer 122V, 57, Stager SR1A Personally I’d use an AEA RPQ500. Ribbons and all dynamics, as far as I can tell, sound bigger through this pre. It works for me, anyway. Though I do track guitars with API derived pres too. Or RND 511. Depends. That’s just me though. Same here, I love my BAE 1073 and of course anything API is an obvious pick BUT my go to is the AEA RPQ500 usually with an AEA R92 as the mic. If I add a 57 then another RPQ or a Millennia VT pre sounds great. I’m a huge fan of these various Fred Forrsell designed pre’s.

Matt, I've been plugging the QP5 everywhere. Absolutely LOVE what it does for Tube LDCs. Just the right amount of push that the mic transformer needs. Works great with dynamics also, but it really makes tube LDCs come to life. hmmm haven't tried it on ribbons yet. Royer 122V, 57, Stager SR1A Personally I’d use an AEA RPQ500.
