My daughter has a POS Chromebook for school and it’s just not hacking it. You guys have a good suggestion for a cheap laptop pc?

What's cheap? I bought a refurbed HP envy x360 2 years ago for around 500$ and it has been great. A few months ago I went to buy a laptop for my mother and noticed the same HP was then 700$ and there were very few sub-500$ laptops and of those, many were very, very poor quality, especially the screen quality and the body was plastic and not metal like most laptops. Clearly the manufacturers needed to keep a pricepoint during our chip-crisis and insane inflation, so they cheapened out the products considerably. Anwyay, I've had good luck with HP but pretty much every manufacturer has great models and terrible models. Personally, I'd go to a local store and check out the goods, especially the screen. Here's the comparable model to mine and it seems the price has come back down some: www.microcenter.com/product/628724/hp-envy-x360-convertible-15-ds1063cl-156-2-in-1-laptop-computer-refurbished-black

How old is your daughter? If she is still attending public schools, there are probably apps etc that are only available to her on the POS. Chromebook. At least, that’s how it is here in the school district where I teach.

I have a cheap laptop PC. (For outdoor recording-11+ Hour Battery) It's the newest HP Stream 11 (11.6" screen). But it's not as durable, as my other POS-ahem- budget Chromebook (Poin2) IMHO Discount Electronics is worth a look. Most come with a one year warranty, on their refurbished laptops. Chris P.S. My 2010 Toshiba Satellite-like a Timex, just keeps ticking.

This is really important, my Junior has a Chromebook PC and IPad because of what he needs for different classes plus a school assigned MBP.

I have the same challenges with my youngest two kids with the entire Google Classroom thing. Oddly enough, their Chroma books work fine (up to spec) but Google classroom works better on an iPad.
