Awesome thanks ! I haven't gotten any emails from Harrison . Just the original one to download Mixbus . The console has compressors built in which is cool , I gotta try them out . But the only other plugin I would need is a 1176 . I love the BF76 in Pro Tools . Maybe the Harrison compressor would be all I need , not sure yet .

speaking of reaper, was this while looking for their plugin video Very impressive! That being said if my mix sounded like the Reaper example I'd be slapping VBC,VTM,VCC and doing whatever I could to get the depth and warmth that Mixbus adds.;-)

Shure, henge. I would do similar with maybe a bunch of Nebula instances or the coloring Pro Channel emus in Sonar or some magic Bootsie plugs. But - still it's not the same, often you have to be very careful with gainstaging. This is where Mixbus really shines. Forget digital sounding clipping totally in mixbus....behaves like analog throughout. Perfect integration. Makes it special... Best regards, Martin

The all in one channel strip integration is very cool as is the bussing layout.

Ok. Been hemming and hawing and generally prevaricating (is that a real word?) about ordering this. I'm on Logic 9 now and not sure I wanna spend $200 up for the upgrade to X. Although the drummer thing does look like it may have some workflow benefits. The vid comparo above nwith Reaper and the Harrison did sound wider/louder. But was it just louder? Not sure I understand their explanation. I know its just $ 20, but would be nice to know it's worth it and/or I might actually use it.
Cheers, Geoff

Well, it actually *has* a wider soundstage and a sonic fingerprint due to saturation/modeled nonlinearities. You could loudness match both version in the vid and would notice the difference in sound immediately. If you find it worth of $20, this is a decision totally up to you. I find myself mixing faster with it. Makes me feel like mixing out of the box more than everything before, except mixing out of the box, so i decided it was worth way more than that,....
Best regards, Martin

I'm having a problem installing the license . I'm on Windows XP and it says to copy the license to your "HOME" folder , which I did , but the Gverb still says unlicensed . Maybe I should join their forum . What OS are you using ?

Hi scumbum, I am on Win8.1 and it worked like expected. The license file should be in the Home folder of the user, that Mixbus is running under. It is in the "Documents and Settings" folder with the corresponding account name on XP. You could try to email mixbus@harrisonconsoles.com also directly. I am pretty sure they can sort it out for you... Best regards, Martin

Its one of the newer ones , I think Macbook Air ? Not sure . But anyways I told him you gotta get Harrsion Mixbus and the Reverb essential Plugins and use that instead of Garage band . Now hes definitely no computer genius , ha , but he actually figured out and installed everything himself . I was surprised ! So if he can do it , then this software is very user friendly , or Homer Simpson friendly .

This is the same problem I'm having. The files just installed automatically without asking me where to go. I have no idea where or what a home file is. Little things like this happen to me all the time while trying to use Mixbus, which makes me want to give up. I want to like it and use it, but it seems that it takes too much effort - at least for me. I'm on Windows7 64bit.

Seems like a no-brainer deal, just to get inside the program and see how to work it. I think I'll get it also.

Bought it. Quite happy with Studio One but will play with this for grins. The one appealing thing to me is the integrated approach.
I'm the guy with one brand of mic pres and compression.

Its worth the effort . The sound I heard in that comparison video was pretty crazy . I love how the whole thing is not just another DAW but a Harrison emulator , with tape saturation , Analog EQ & Compression built in.........I'm still on PT 7.4 and happy . I'm like one of the last people you would get to switch DAW's but I'm learning Mixbus !

I'm simple too , one brand of mic pres , an 1176 and I'm happy . Thats pretty how they did things back in the day too . They used the mic pre in the console and a couple of 1176's and an LA2A .

Did you figure out the licensing of the plugins? I did ! The plugin license needs to be in your "Home" folder , which is a folder in My Documents that has your user name on it . I have a new problem though , when I start it up it says theres a problem with "Jack" and it won't start Mixbus . So I gotta figure that out now . I tried all the software on another Dell Laptop I have that I use just for the internet and everything works perfect on it . Its my recording computer which is having issues .

I bought my first Harrison console and MTR-90 II in 1981 and still have them in my analog Control Room. I could never get over the sound of I.T.B. digital until Mixbus. Easy to mix on and sounds great. Just got the $5.00 video (the price of a hamburger), I Love to learn how other people mix. This old dog could always learn something new.
