Just saw this posted on Edcor's Facebook page: "Over the years, EDCOR has worked hard at getting a team together to produce quality transformers at a reasonable time. We have the team, but with the events over the last year or so, have caused several problems and hard aches. Within the last year and a half, we have sadly seen several other US transformer companies closing doors, material suppliers shutting down production, and shortages of copper, steel laminations, and hardware. Because of the growing material shortages, several vendors have now started rationing materials. Meaning that we can only have a certain amount of material shipped out to us a month. This will affect the number of transformers we can build a month. Because of the shortages, cost of material has increased. We are still working diligently to fulfill all orders, as material allows." Sad times.

A most manufacturers will be pretty affected i'd say. Hopefully the smaller ones have enough components in stock.
I work in the electrical supply industry and almost every manufacturer is struggling with materials and shipping.

I don't think there's an industry not seeing some of the effects of this. As consumers, we just plain need to be patient.

Maybe instead of trying to sell my ADK Z-251 I should just pull the transformer out and sell that. Sounds like I might get close to the same money at this point, and perhaps more interest.

A colleague ordered a TC Electronic Clarity Meter in February, was told he'd get it in 3 months, which was moved to this month (sept) he just got an email saying it was delayed another 10 weeks.

I'm still waiting on a Coil Audio CA70S I paid for in February.
Transformer "goal posts" keep shifting.
I trust it'll all work out, but it's been frustrating for all involved.

It's been a huge pain. Lead times for transformers are in the six month range right now, and it's every supplier we use - Cinemag, Carnhill, Jensen. Don't even get me started on Bourns and Grayhill. Even things I never even worried about before like Panasonic caps or standard value metal film resistors (!!) are sometimes out of stock. It's nuts.
Only solution we could come up with is: you can't pay me for it if I can't ship it within 2 business days.

Beats sending out back order notifications every 30 days reminding the customer he has the right to cancel I had a couple of non audio items on 60 days of back order that did not want to let me cancel till I called my CC company and told them they didn’t send notice and said I couldn’t cancel Commerce Code be damned.

I just today got some switches that were due May 1st, 2021. Every time I go to order something its a challenge. The C&K mini toggles almost tripled in cost since my last order...and I was lucky to find them.

I have learnt to be a lot more patient in the last year. IT took a while for Heiserman to make the H47, it took a while for The Upton to be made, but wow it took a very long time to get the Vintech X73. Vintech were exceptional at explaining the delays along the way so it made the journey quite bearable. But I really do feel for the smaller guys waiting for parts and/or sourcing parts. It didnt help that I wanted the X73 not the cheaper x73i model. I really feel for these manufacturers whose livelihood is sort of on hold at the moment. But at last the wait is over. Now for the harder part of saving for another X73 somewhere down the track. I would think twice about selling and upgrading anything hand made at the moment. 2 by BEANAT19, on Flickr
